It was a hot day, and it didn't seem like they had the a/c on. I got there a couple minutes before my appointment because the website asked that you show up earlier to ensure that you have time to prepare for your treatment. They didn't start until 15 minutes later. The lady who worked on my hair worked increadibly slow. The slowest ever. She said she works with clients that are Asian, so she knew what to do.
My biggest fear in going to a salon is that they would make me look like a geisha. This hair was very, very geisha-like and made me look old and kind of like I should walk around with wooden slippers and hold a cup of tea.
After my hair was done, she had me look in the mirror. I told her that some places were not clean. The hair looked messy and not refined. She first blamed it on how dry the ends of my hair are and then started to randomly cut the ends that were not clean!!!!! I was so shocked I didn't say anything and only thought, "omg, thank goodness I'm only coming here once and I'm getting a major haircut when I return to Socal."
Makeup. This wasn't too shabby. But I paid about 100 for just foundation, blush, eyeliner, shadow, false lashes. If you pay for a full makeup session, shouldn't it include moisturizer, primer, and all the other stuff? The website said it would be $65 and on the phone they also said $65, but for some reason they charged $100 for it!
The makeup artist didn't do a bad job, she did a normal job, i felt like it didn't accentuate any of my facial features. She did what I asked by using mauves and neutral colors, but I just didn't feel like it was worth the money. The hairdresser is the daughter of the owner, ans i realizes she gets impatient with every client...she is not professional!!!
I would not come here again!!!
Don't do it!: I went in for just a trim (Regretfully I was being cheap and didn't want to pay my regular salon $165 just for an inch off the ends) - WORST MISTAKE EVER. I had super long hair - I told her I just wanted a trim off the back, trim up my long layers (but keep them long, I'm growing them out) and trim up my long bangs. She hacked my hair to pieces! it's super short in front with all these chunky layers, and she cut at least 3 inches off the back! 6-7 inches off of the front. Why didn't I tell her to stop, you may ask? I've had an eye condition recently and instead of contacts, have to wear glasses - which I had to take off for her to cut my hair. I'm blind as a bat without them, and when I put them back on, I was horrified! I'm in a wedding in a few months and was looking forward to wearing my hair long - it's such a disaster now that I have to wear it in a ponytail every day. It grows pretty fast, so I'm hoping, if I'm paitent, it'll grow out and look ok. But every day I just want to chop it off and start over. It took me a year and a half to grow it long - it took her an hour and a half to ruin it! And when all was said and done, with tip - it still cost me $45 bucks! She said she had to charge me for a "style" - even though I only wanted a trim! I also waited in there for almost an hour before being seen - people kept "calling ahead" and they'd take them before me. I'm never going back there again! stick to your regular salon, ladies!
The daughter of the owner is one of the hairdressers and she is CRAZY!!!!
